Sohar International Urea & Chemical Industries SAOC (SIUCI), promoted by Sheikh Suhail Salim Bahwan, was established in March 2002 as a closed joint stock Company to set up an Ammonia-Urea Fertiliser Complex at Sohar Industrial Port Area.

The Legal form of the Company (SIUCI) was changed from an Oman closed joint stock Company (SAOC) to Oman limited liability Company (LLC). Consequent to which the name of the Company (SIUCI) is “Sohar International Urea & Chemical Industries LLC”.
